The classic story of justice, heart, and thought, the Trial and Death of Socrates documents the end of the greatest philosopher in history from the eyes of his own student: Plato. In this first episode, we look to Plato's early work, soon after Socrates had drunk the hemlock. 'Euthyphro' places its titular character, Euthyphro, a self-proclaimed expert of religion, in the difficult position of debating one of the greatest minds in history. As he and Socrates enter into the ideas of piety and impiety, he is lost at what to precisely say to the man that understands all. Dialoguing the back-and-forth of these two characters, Plato highlights the strengths of his teacher and shows all of us important lessons about the world that we happen to have landed in.
